CUPFUL OF ILLUSIONSA Poem by Betty HermeleeA tryst to be deal with....CUPFUL OF ILLUSIONS
Soon after an intense tryst beneath the glimmer of a million stars I blush as I amble back to my cottage on the hill the moon follows my shadow as I climb I can nearly pinch it the sparkle more fervent, overwhelming a deep yellow, like the color of my house
Nonetheless, my mood alters to a blue hue now that I relinquish my essence from those cloud gray eyes
I ponder my affections unremittingly shall I further persevere? or anticipate his maneuver? of this nearly faultless affair of the heart
That night I fantasize his cup of illusions concealed by ivory satin sheets he whispers that he owns me from my face to my toes and traces each aspect as he would a fragile blossom
I awaken and yearn to return to my visions of sweet nectar Yet my excitement fails to sanction my fancies with a commensurate pose as we owned the night before
