THE MIDDLEA Poem by Betty Hermeleebeing in the middle....
I am in the middle of a Prussian blue sea I am in the midst of my climb up an oak tree
I am in the middle of a book whose name might put me to shame I am midway between my first and last name
I am centered between the sun and the sand my skin is burned I wear a Cadmium red headband
I am midmost within the moon and my shadow similar to a ghost I choose to follow
I am halfway in thick, tall grass no one spies on me naught to report to that affords me the key to be free
I am a middle child naught attention do I earn my wish is that my siblings are on some planets thankfully that kills my nagging heartburn
