A SENSUAL BLUSH

A SENSUAL BLUSH

A SENSUAL BLUSH

We posture

Cloudy water ripples

Before our threadbare eyes

We squabble whilst daylight falls upon us

Like duck’s clack in the lake

Our patois is repellent

We leer, eyes bulge

Hence, we pivot

Indignant rears face each other

Like firewater drunk on misery

At dusk we are fatigued, enervated

Our vivacity drained

As rainwater seeps into the earth

We trudge home inaudibly

Night descends

Moonlight through our shade less window

Our thirst for harmony magnifies

As the stars illuminate the sky

Our eyes sink beneath our bitterness

Our faces meander from ghost white

To a sensual blush

The creaky bed suggests

A fiery carnal night

You are welcome, dear Betty.
So good when the frost thaws Betty and the heat turns up. Best not to let animosity fester. A good read dear friend.Nicely composed stanzas and interesting vocab.

If one is to have a restless night, it's best to have it with a good reason.

Nicely done.

Amazing ambiguity! At the end of the day we succumb to our human condition ... needy. Easy to forget the troubles of the day when there's love to be made in the night. This is an interesting thing you write.
