BIRD-DROPPINGS

BIRD-DROPPINGS

BIRD-DROPPINGS

Thunder of motorcycles

Agitates the harmony of my pondering

Visions of early spring

On a transparent, windy day

Naked trees, limbs rock n roll

In the reflection of a radiant sun

From far off, I discern minuscule

Pink buds on a pendulous bough

I set out to savor this splendid day

Uncover a consummate site

Wherein I shall park my worn Scottish plaid blanket

Hitherto I plant my picnic basket crammed with

Luscious eatables

Thereafter, I lay under a bald tree, nigh to behold

The comeliness of it

A glance upward reveals two large nests

I study their shape and size

Along with the query of whether or not

The birds are mating

Or perchance the nest is hollow

In the wake of a relieving repose

I choose to consume some food

My basket is abundant

With red apples, carrots, an egg sandwich

Some homemade cookies

And a flagon of black tea

Whilst I nibble my lunch

I set off a loud giggle

It appears the nest over-head is nay bare

I sense a bird-dropping on my head

Next, some subtle chirps

I utter a loud chirp in return

Why, you little creatures still survive

A welcome song

In the hush of my pondering

with this splattered blemish on an otherwise lovely moment in time I believe it is well past time that our feathered friends exhibit an awareness of when and where to drop their do-do
Poll; should birds continue to stop and drop anytime or place.....
should birds be required to wear proper gaunchies............
should picnics beneath nests be banned..........................

In the twinkling of an eye… I do spy a Nest of turquoise eggs bursting with Pride … little wings will rest until the moment they are strong enough to fly.. perchance to dream… ah there’s the Rub… tenderly, Pat

Love that Betty. I love the whole process from motorcycle, to the nest, to pcinicking and lastly to a bird drop. :D (It reminds me of my little woods, I have lots of fun. I end up in a picnic, and naked. Having fun! It is solate, solace. And I love my little nest. Great read, hon! :D

of course honey, of course Betty :D
When I hit Home bird droppings was the first thing I saw. How can I resist a read on that subject. Especially since I got it once right on the head when I stood on a corner downtown. It was interesting how the title added some suspense knowing what was coming but not how or when. I liked the joy of life replacing your irritation. Did you tweet this as well?

I watched a film the other night. It was like watching all of our poetry come to life. It was amazing! The Fountain with Hugh Jackman and Ellen Burstyn. Your black dagger was in it and almost every poetic subject we've all written. It was uncanny. And beautiful. If you watch movies much check it out.
