This poem reminds me of the days when I used to simply watch snowflakes out of my window, completely detached from worldly things.!! Damn! Completely justifies my feelings for snowy winters.
Loved it!
Greetings
Betty, your word choice was delightful! Many can relate to this poem because a lot of folks do not like snow. We do not get much snow in Mississippi, but on the very rare times we do I want to go out and be in it! I love the powdery stuff, but I do have to say I do not want it to stay! Enjoyed your poem!
Oh my! Your poetry deserves the top shelf! Indeed, congratulations on your incredible talent. Please visit my profile sometimes, your opinion is very important to me. Greetings!

I’m feeling this one of late. Our weather has been unbearable. Snow, rain, a white squall then an ice storm and now more snow. That’s Illinois for ya. It gives me a headache and I want to sleep until I hear morning doves and robins. Nicely done! Very relatable

Taking liberties with the English language? I do it! Maybe I should look up irksomeness first before I write that....
I was just commenting with Cherrie about the word rime and its meaning then came to read you and this. I said my mind was suffering from rhyme rime. That's exactly what you were writing about here! Interesting how the next thing we read can relate to something just past. I'll see if you dozed it off in the next poem.

An appropriate offering for this snowy January. Here the snow is seen as something that envelops the consciousness, so that all seems "Barren, empty/ Pure yet dull." Further on the speaker mentions something like a creative impasse where a sort of inner disconnect is felt. The last verse sounds something very like depression or an overwhelming boredom. Usually these things pass, but the right medication doesn't hurt, either.

Many of us go into shutdown mode during the winter season when much of our surrounding seems bleak; this the reader understands completely. It usually isn't until spring that life returns to awaken us.

Snow is such an interesting thing, because while the beauty of it causes a warm feeling within you it so cold to the touch. Snow represents purity and also the harsh and emotionless, 98.

My love of poetry results from my love of art. As a painter I am able to express myself on a canvas. As a poet my words come from my heart, my moods, sometimes sad, mostly upbeat. I like to use vivid .. more..
