DIVINE WITHIN

DIVINE WITHIN

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

inner strength, contentment, dreams

"

DIVINE WITHIN

My eyes glint back and forth

In awe of the graceful migration

Of the Arctic Terns overhead

I am overwhelmed

They speak to me

You bear the divine within you

The faith you seek

Alas, you are endowed

With peace in your core

Scour the skies

For the cosmos will shelter you

In the year of the

Dragon’s poison breath

Fright no longer

Your inner forte will overcome

Hence you will shape

Contentment

In this chaotic universe

The Arctic Terns slowly

Fade from my dream

It was so existent

wipe the sleep from my eyes

I wonder over their terminus

Resolve to thank them

For their divine deed

Go about my business

As a more fortunate human being

You're welcome!
That is a powerful dream of forthcoming serenity that gives the dreamer strength for the coming days, it’s almost prophetic and one that will stay with dreamer as day and days go by. I have had dreams like this, they’re comforting as if they come from heaven. What a beautiful piece B. I love this

Who knows? Perhaps he is. Nature does have a divinity, being created by God, as do we. But most never find or respect it. In themselves or their fellow man. Beautiful words and images, Ma'am. Finely visualized.

Your poem speaks to modern times...contentment from a chaotic word is very important. You writing is a reminder that peace is possible through nature.

We all need a reset, something that reminds us all of what we have lost and what will be again, in its own sweet time.
But yes, those little moments of calm and normalcy are so very welcome indeed.
More please 😊

dearest Betty… the Serenity of Terns appears on our Rappahannock River .. giving us the Divine presence that rests in our Soul. With our World in turmoil … we need the assurance of Peace .. a place for Prayer that will change the darkness into Light and the Hope of Heaven on Earth where Children can run and frolic in the Sunshine of Spring bursting forth with Butterflies and flowers of lovely gardens of Hope and Desire. tenderly, Pat

This one has the sound of a religious experience manifesting as part of a dream. The speaker is beholding the migration of the Arctic Terns and is awed by the sight. Miraculously, the birds speak, transmitting sacred knowledge of the Divinity within. They also allay fears, saying protection comes from within, as does contentment. Then the dream fades. The speaker feels fortunate for the experience. While not referencing any particular religion, this was definitely a spiritual experience, a message of great import.
