MUSE MADNESSA Poem by Betty HermeleeDisparages; relationshipsMUSE MADNESS
MUSE MADNESS The moon hides behind silver ribbons Tis a mild winter eve Street lamps alight reflect Off the damp cobblestones A slight mist humbles to the ground An eerie glow persists
I walk alone Tis ghostly in the town And in my notions I agonize over my muse’s madness Of recent, her doings Lead me to muddle She asserts I consider a reconcile With my former lover Who did abuse me
Her craze frightens me Dark veils my psyche My intention is clear As the nightly northern star I resent this man And all his lies and tricks
My muse had better be conscious Or I will lose my grace with her
I sit for a while And sharpen my senses Whilst I watch the moon’s silver ribbons Til the first peek of purple dawn Purges my spirit
