TUNES OF VENUSA Poem by Betty Hermeleedelusional, imagination.TUNES OF VENUS
My eyes adrift My core conceals behind the moon I glance at an exotic universe Imagine me up here Swaying to the tunes of Venus Razzing to the drumbeat of Mars
Whoa I’m soaring My heart beats to the sun’s fiery blast Bubbles my blood to red hot Pink horses gallop amid the blinking stars Orange flames thrash out
How long will this delightful delusion linger? Or will I soon return to my wretched life When the high wears off Drop to my knees in frustration Mask behind dark shadows Quiver and shake until my body quiets
Hang around, wait for more Unless I get lucky I may get kicked or killed Before my next waste My muse is silent I ache, pain thrives Scream further Some kind dude rescues me I don’t give a damn if it’s a rusty needle
