PURPLE SUNSETA Poem by Betty HermeleeLove songMy flaws darling Now I perceive You are every part of me I ought to have held you tight Kissed your smooth lips Ought to have whispered tenderly Little things we cherished
Yet I shunned My guilt love, not with intent My plan to veil you Like a goddess in a purple sunset But I let you down Shattered the time
If you sense only second best My sorrows to you I urge, does our love still matter? Likely I can hope And ponder those lonely times Without you I overlooked much in our bond Yet, you were always on my mind
