TIME EBBS

TIME EBBS

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

body and soul

"

TIME EBBS

I float placidly on the surface

Yet my spirit lays distant

In a cavernous sea

Notions of darkness

Flood my depths

Time ebbs

My core runs aground

Sea Goddess sighs

Whispers

Bubbles of solace

She clutches my soul

Elevates me to the shallow

I am unbroken, complete

A amazing poem dear Betty.

The above lines, I did adore. I could write a epic tale from. We do need mystical places to gather our minds and heart. Thank you dear friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

You are welcome dear Betty.
I experienced a similar feeling whilst snorkelling in the Red Sea, my body serene on the surface, gazing down hundreds of meters, I’m sure my spirit was elsewhere. Thanks for sharing your lovely words and reminding me of a wonderful moment.

So much truth in the fact that your body can be in one place while your soul is in another. Floating in the sea is an incredibly spiritual experience. One small person in a vast ocean that can change mood easily. Salt water is healing. I think I would benefit from this right now.. Warm water though Betty because I am a wimp :) Thank you fir the gift of your poetry. Have a wonderful day.

brilliant says i! ... the imaging, story, setting and scene all in tune as she lets go into the deep .. there is danger but ..... she floats ... finds a true ground .. all's well .. really like this line "Bubbles of solace" .. i think your poem takes minimalism to the max ... there is absolutely no fat remaining one could possible trim and still give such a whole package .. well done .. the mind is a funny thing ... we have no idea it's boundaries nor capabilities but it is of necessity, humbled by our finite existence ... inspiring thoughts, Betty .. glad i did not miss this one.

A nicely offered peaceful moment
I used to spend a great deal of time in the water but I had to keep my mind and spirit in the same spot to ensure I wouldn't drown
Of course, that's just me

Thank you dear Dave! I prefer to float with my mind elsewhere!

What I get from this one is the sense of being trapped by somber memories and the passage of time. However, a spiritual experience breaks the spell of the deep and elevates the drifter to wholeness.

Thank you John, yes the body floats serenely, but the soul is far away and dark. Well done!😊
That is so true, I love sitting with a good cup of tea or coffee and get lost in a moment, This is wonderful

water poems always get me, have a fear of water, but have pleasant dreams about water, go figure. My spirit is frequently out to lunch somewhere beautiful, the rest of me, well it aches and wants to lay down. :) I love this write, water and all. thank you
