dearest Betty... we do have to put up with a lot of
laughter from the Rain at our expense... but somehow
the Charm of diamond drops keeps me focused on the
silver linings that are juxtapositioned on both sides of the sky...
we can choose to be sad or happy... according to our mood.
Autumn is a time to sigh and smile. gently, Pat

Sunflowers have been Standing Taller, as we Cool in the Shade of Maple trees... and now August is peeking around the Corner as the Children "Bathe" in Rain Water. Pumpkins are getting ready for Big Smiles and Bright Eyes. Poems are popping up like Chrysanthemums in Colors of Magenta and Gold. truly yours, Pat

Thanks you Fran, I really appreciate your thoughtful review.

This is my third consecutive read of poems about rain...how amazing! More so because I love rain! You have captured the true mood of a rainy day in August...from steam rising from black asphalt to sun begs for its presence...how wonderfully you captured everything!
Rains, storms, that's my favorite weather out of everything, so I always love any song, poetry, painting based off rain, and you absolutely delivered with this- this poem is the pinnacle of rain and perfectly explains and encaptures the feelings of why I love rain so much. If you showed this to someone who hated rain, they'd even have to admit there's a kind of beauty in the storm. Just like the rain, it felt refreshing to read. Wow, thank you for posting. This is a new favorite of mine!

Rainfall can be so refreshing to anything feeling parched. I enjoyed the imagery here and I felt warm summer rain embracing my too dry skin. Nicely conveyed Betty.
Your imagery has captured August perfectly. As you say, moods change, and August puts that change into overdrive. It's no wonder more mass murders take place in that month than in any other.

The rain gets no appreciation. I've always loved it. I could smell it since I was a child, and others thought I was strange, so now, I don't make mention of it - at least not that often. But I truly love what you've done here, Betty. The poetic ambience you gave to rain falling - makes me wish I were standing in it at this very moment. Rain has become a commodity we seldom see here in California, so thank you for sharing the delight of it.

My love of poetry results from my love of art. As a painter I am able to express myself on a canvas. As a poet my words come from my heart, my moods, sometimes sad, mostly upbeat. I like to use vivid .. more..
