TOMORROW

TOMORROW

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

make the moment count!

"

TOMORROW

Ficus trees sense the whiff

massive storm looms to the west

leaves rustle in harmony

can this be the end of us?

thus, shall we party tonight?

let us stretch it late

thrive under a blue moon

with uncertainty shrouding us

perchance no tomorrow

crows and hawks squawk, owls hoot, forewarn

let us rustle and screech as the end draws near

we entwine as one, steadfast

as we are battered

Come hither my sweet

soothe my sadness

let us savor our last eve

please stay the night

for tomorrow fetches uncertainty

loneliness encircles us

close the lights

take my hand in yours

sense the silken sheets

our flesh heats with orange hues

warm breath eases our worries

eyes shut, our passion hums

who needs the purple dawn?

That must have been quite a party. Ending in an orange orgasm maybe? Poetic purple passion play! I like it!

Live the moment because you don't know what tomorrow brings.. Really good philosophy in my opinion. Thank you Betty. Beautiful poem.

And to you too dear Betty :)
I love Bob Seger, my all time favorite is Night Moves. Now that song is an all time classic from the 70s. Live for the moment, has always been a favorite mantra of mine. One handed down to me by my grandmother who always lived her life believing in those words. And living them. Thank you Betty for this wonderful poem.

As per your notes, it does have a fel of living in the moment as opposed to the end of something and if there's one thing the past year(s) taught us, it is that to never put off what we might never get the chance to do or say again.
That's it decided then, pizza and double fries for dinner tonight. We'll, it is Friday after all 😊

"we've got tonight, who needs tomorrow? Let's make it last, let's find a way"

I have found that to be one of the most romantic ballads...
and yes, we absolutely have to make the most of each day...who knows what lies in store for the next day, or if there will be one.

Hello, Betty! :)
"let us stretch it late... for tomorrow fetches uncertainty... take my hand in yours... who needs the purple dawn?" - You've written lovely lines and thoughts here, and all together a great message of appreciating our time and love. I listened to the song before I read the poem. I hasn't heard it in a long time; great choice for inspiration!
