a chronic human condition
years of lip-liking passion, riding the stars of intimacy
..."brevity is the soul of wit..."
like a rose at full expression, must be savored in the divine Now that it lives.
..."all that lives must die passing through nature to eternity"...

Lovely review, thanks for visiting and your thoughts
Best, Betty
Growing old or growing up need not mean growing apart. We had "Grow Old Along With Me" by Mary Chapin Carpenter played at our wedding. But I love my wife more every day. While young love might be full of passion, sex and desire, a mature love is like favorite jeans grown more comfortable with time or any article that can't be replaced with something new. That's the great problem with new love, like a new car, the newer models might make you think of trading in. But ours is like a treasured heirloom love. And, having experienced both, I must say I prefer the latter.

Surely being together doing whatever briefly is far better than make believe without emotion. To have made only a single journey but a host of memories - is what make the thrills important! Yes? What a wonderful picture.. is beautiful
Take care, keep safe, Betty, and - keep smiling..

A wonderful poem share dear Betty. With time together with someone. We will learn new ways to love each other. A long marriage take two kind people willing to change. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry my dear friend.

Just remember wear that dogs mouths been and what it's been licking before smacking any lips 😊
Be the exception and walk hand in hand as often as possible, some things shouldn't wane just because we do.
But it's not as much fun when you both wear protection (masks) 😷😷

speaking of "The Thrill is Gone"
here is something that I thought was super cool...my second ex Barbara, with whom I am still close, was at a bar in NY...met and had a dance with B.B. King...she said he was a really nice man. Very much a gentleman.

My love of poetry results from my love of art. As a painter I am able to express myself on a canvas. As a poet my words come from my heart, my moods, sometimes sad, mostly upbeat. I like to use vivid .. more..
