THE SALESMANA Poem by Betty Hermeleefunny exchangeTHE SALESMAN The salesman says these chairs are a find Then swivels around and changes his mind You’re over charging me sir My face turns red and eyes a blur I can sell you another chair But sir, this one is a pair Then I’ll sell you two for one Now that’s a deal quite well done He chips a leg while loading my car I have another, but the price you will spar I’ll keep what I have and fix it Oh dear, says the salesman, may I offer you a fix kit Thank you, no, I’ll be on my way You’re welcome, Madame, perhaps I’ll see you another day?
