Very interesting poem about favoring gender. When my child was born, I didn't care about the gender as long as they were safe.

you are relating to what happened in China
In an effort to force birth control they tried to limited each family to one child (one child policy)
Little girls did not fare well

My Father wanted a Boy... even thought of naming me Steve.
I was born a Girl and now I am a Lady. I was an only child...
so sometimes I was a Tom Boy... but alas, I had a boy and girl of my own.
What happened to "either is Ok, as long as he or she is healthy".
You, dear Lady, should be called "Miracle"... not a Mistake. tenderly, Pat

"So as you think so you are" is a popular Bible translation text. I always wondered why people believe in evolution? Because parents teach their children it's so by saying they had you on "accident". But they are so ignorant about what is involved for a human body to make a human. There is no way it could be a mistake. But people just know sex and birth, that's all. But know there is so much more involved, beyond what any human can fathom. In short I don't agree with your parents, or any of the like.

Wonderful brevity here Betty and your posted image so powerful. How can that beautiful baby girl be considered a mistake I ask myself. Yet, in many parts of the world, the birth of a daughter is not something to celebrate and we still hear of them being cast aside. The birth of a child is a gift, whatever the gender. So much to think about here and say. Could say so much more. All the best dear Betty.
