I sure wish I could tranquilize the chaos/clutter in my mind. That sweet spot of a mental frame in which I can create is as fragile as egg shells. Barking dogs, roofers hammering, the garbage truck driving by--they all are bulls in my mind's china shop. No, it's not in the closet. This is a great poem on this sensitive subject.
Thanks so much for visiting and a lovely review!
Best, Betty

I just finished reading WINDY...will write review on your page
This was a delightful read, cadence and rhyme is impeccable. I love your word choice. The cluttered mind of a creative can be a chaotic place, perhaps that's why we so often seek tranquility. The mundane could never understand but clearly you do.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review and for visiting my page!
Liked the imagery in this one. Yes, the surface mind has been likened to a drunken monkey, leaping from one thing to another haphazardly. I practice meditation and mindfulness to deal with this tendency. Sometimes I succeed.

Thanks John for your thoughtful comments.

You know Betty, I can collect clutter quite easily, and for a time I am comfortable with it. Especially in the winter months. As spring approaches I usually have a desire for clean straight lines, finding a home for everything, and in some cases bagging stuff up for the charity shop. It is a mood thing with me. My brain works in a similar fashion. When my mind is cluttered, I meditate. Got to get rid of all that excess and have a clean sheet. That's where this intriguing write took me. All the best dear poet.

dearest Betty... the Secret to Life is controlling the Clutter... organizing and developing a time for every task at hand as the Pendulum swings.

Beautiful artwork and amazing thoughts shared.
"A luminary space of disjointed concepts, daunting,
Dive with the dolphins, prattle with a parrot
Scrutinize the moon’s abstractions
Trim the inner linings"
I loved the above lines and to clean-up a mind. Not so easy done dear Betty. Good evening from Michigan and thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

My love of poetry results from my love of art. As a painter I am able to express myself on a canvas. As a poet my words come from my heart, my moods, sometimes sad, mostly upbeat. I like to use vivid .. more..
