CERULEAN BLUE

CERULEAN BLUE

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

Panoramas

"
Fleeting scenes of lowlands alongside the I-95 South
rivers of marsh grass unfold into the bays
of shallow dark green wash
against the cerulean blue sky

Whiffs of salt blend with acrid odors
of paper mills miles away
loaded logging lorries
hog the byways, trudge along
to the smoke chocked factories

Pancake blurry panoramas
stretch to the horizon
where the sun settles
in advance of its rest for the night

Thanks you for your lovely review!
This is the second nature poem with accompanying picture I have seen from you. Your words complement the image very well, enhance it.

Thank you for your review.
PS many poets ONLY write about nature, but NOT me!
You've painted in words Betty, a very atmospheric picture of this beautiful place. As is often the case man's activity is hard to avoid. Great photo of what I assume is the area.
Take care and we can only hope for a better 2021

Forgot to wish you a happy New year!
I drove 1-95 often. I was station at Fort Steward for three years. My family lived in Largo. I liked the marshlands. Hello dear Betty and thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

I loved the photo and you are welcome dear Betty.
"Pancake blurry panoramas" god, I love that image...
I want extra syrup on my marshland.
Looking at the picture makes me wonder how many gators there are in this photo that we can't see
from the distance.
beautiful description, Betty.
as always.
