Altho this is a dynamic depiction of a storm thrashing & then passing (especially love the way you show the sun bringing back some order) . . . this could be a figurative way of reinforcing the old axiom: "this too shall pass." It's true about so much in life -- things are transformed in the light of day, or after a night's sleep, or whatever! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I love storms! Learned to love them on lake Como. Watching them was like being baptized a water nympth or summat!
Your third verse is wonderful, true as true, welcome as welcome: put so gently yet clearly. Not a negative aftermath but the kindness it is.
First and second stanzas really display the power of storms - Summer storm, complete with 'lightning bolts, abstraction in the night skies' and then: ' the dim light of dawn .. rainwater cuts deep into the hillsides .. ' You've painted with words., Betty. Love it!

Wonderful imagery of stormy weather Betty and the sounds that come with it. Love the fireworks in the sky, but most of all when it stops, there is such a feeling of calm. Trickling water, raindrops sparkling in sunlight. That's when you see nature's jewels at their best. Storms at night akwats seem more scary. Lovely write my friend.

even thought they can be scary, they are beautiful in their own way...
and the sun has a lot of responsibility...it needs to show its face and work on drying out
the land after torrential rains and floods have displaced.
Makes me wonder if the rocks and mud have flood insurance.
:)))
another poem that makes us hear the thunder...and touch the lightning.

My love of poetry results from my love of art. As a painter I am able to express myself on a canvas. As a poet my words come from my heart, my moods, sometimes sad, mostly upbeat. I like to use vivid .. more..
