THE BOND

THE BOND

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

LOVE, aging, bonding

"
You, the peerless one
who strokes my nose
and cuddles
my top pal ever
we're entwined in our love fest
our cores match a knot
we grab each other's giggles
and muse each other's thoughts
we move beside as one

Years pass and we age
but our lures refresh our flesh
life is a tussle
we smack it with coupled strength
and bond as glue sticks

You're welcome!
Betty, your poem is the promise kept of true partners. I'm reminded of all the stories I've heard about the elderly husband or wife dying and the other dying only hours or days later. That coupled strength and bond seems to keep them together in life and death. We see fewer stories like this with younger generations. Still, it's inspiring to read poems like yours and know some truly live the words. A feel-good poem that reminds us love is real and enduring.

Great review, so appreciated!
Togetherness through the years. How love grows and strengthens. How love binds like glue. Very well conveyed Betty. Lovely to see an image of you my friend. Take care.

Thank you Chris, I appreciate it!
This is one of the best descriptions I've read about two people being in love. Your writing is fresh & inventive, full of unexpected expressions to illustrate the "reinventing" you write about. This is the ultimate of SHOW instead of tell . . . your very writing itself shows a vibrant thriving approach to anything (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
