A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

hope

I ride the waves of sorrow
to join eternal bliss
I await a kindly person
to plant a gentle kiss

if only there were more gentle kisses....
and more love....there would be less sorrow.
lovely poem, Betty.
I stayed over in Black Mountain quite often over the years when I would go to visit my parents when they lived in Whispering Pines and Southern Pines...they are gone now....but Carolina is so pretty, especially around where you are.

I think the caption of hope says it all. Nice little poem you got there. Little, but profound sentiment. Let's hop that wave of sorrow finally crests. CD

A good "dream" to pause with, but it takes two and work.

A lovely but sad story, Betty. I can identify. The words are perfect to hint of fire without starting one. I will follow you for a time.-- Doug

The point of brief poems has been achieved: you spark a long train of thought in the reader's mind. I believe it's a thoughtful balancing act to be hopeful about such a kiss and yet also not living as if we're waiting for anything (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

And a kindly person may bring you peace and happiness. Wonderful poem... so simple yet so unique. The rhyme you added was the perfect touch. Nicely done, Poet!
