A Thorned Sun

A Thorned Sun

A Poem by Betty Boop

They swell with happiness
their thorns protect
it seems like nothing can stop them
or at least not yet
They savor every moment
up until the last
they don't realized how things have gone
much to fast
As you pour yourself into them
then just as quickly fade away
their pedals slowly come off
Day by day
