Day 1

Despite that the world had met its end, the fact that which I can’t accept so easily, the world that I am still in seemed to be continuing to move on. It was strange, but it was life. Survivors have no memory of what had happened, nor do they know how the world ended, it was stated, and it was such.

And so, I looked on to the once soaring glories of cities whose technology had seemed unfathomable like magic. They now stood as ruins, old, rusted, greens growing from the algae covered walls. They stood faded, like a stone monument.

Exploring them was like visiting an old house where you had lived before. No people reside in them now, cars just stopped, frozen in place at the roads that are littered with grass and ground. It had seemed like a certain amount of time had passed when we were once suspended in a frozen state.

They sky still hung blue above me, I know a few survivors and we regularly explore the ruins now and then as we search for aged artifacts. But now, I’m just walking alone.

It was cold, mist hung to my sides, and I rubbed my hands on my arms, covered by a jacket that we had salvaged in a ruined Department Store. The place was quiet, quiet in fact that if I were to speak silently, my voice would surely echo.

I just wandered through stores, like a city was, there were many kinds. I now stood within a bookstore. The books were dusty, unexposed to the harsh weathers outside. Their pages were brown, as I open them, the words peeking back at me familiarly.

I wander again, having consciously taken a journal in my hand and a pencil. Perhaps I should record my days in these post-apocalyptic world, but what would be the use…?
