More Than a Cliche

More Than a Cliche

A Poem by Elisabeth.
"

This is about my brother and his life. His current wife left him and seeing him fall apart is something terrible.

"
Look at me in the eyes
Can't you see you're not the one I despise
Please turn around don't walk away
I swear my love was more than a cliche

Hopefully my heart doesn't break this time
Don't let me fall out of line
Losing myself because I lost you
Was none of this true

Stop telling me what I cannot be
Shouldn't of gotten down on that knee
Affecting more than just me
Guilty is something you'll one day plead

Don't let me make the same mistake
I don't know if I take this heart ache
It's a heart stopper
I don't mean to talk about her

I see you with another
How could you face your mother
With them cold brown eyes (or are they purple now)
So many lies

I really didn't see this coming
Just the other day we were singing and humming
But you ran away
Don't want to face me today

This was REAL
It was something I couldn't feel
for anyone else but you
Leaving me for someone new

A love so intense
I didn't mean any offense
Putting our love on display
Hopefully it was more than just a cliche
