Good ole Cajun Country

Good ole Cajun Country

A Chapter by BessLouise

Here we are. Good ole road has lead us to Louisiana. My grandfather had driven overnight to Georgia to bring us home to Louisiana. Old Grandaddy was not only strong he was hard headed and overdriven to provide. He lead with a firm hand and a soft voice.

We had a pool and a large bedroom that we shared. My brother had his own room but, I was terrified to go into it.

The summer was hot and the air was heavy. I was set to go play in the woods. We had inherited quite the ugly dog, Misty. With my trusty stead Misty by my side, we set out. I was so excited to be going into the forest for and adventure. I saw a pth right on the edge of the woods and began to follow it. I soon saw a roof in the distance uit didnt seem that far so I kept walking. I followed the path all the way to the open pasture of Scott's back yard. Scott would soon become my closest childhood friend. Most summer days were spent scouting the woods. Seeing snake, catching bugs, climbing trees. The summer afternoons however, were special. Lightning bugs filled the air and the sun began to fall it was cool enough to venture around the neighborhood. I think that this is where I learned to play like a boy but to suck up do the adults like a sweet little girl.

We soon had to move because that's just the way that things had to go.
