the contrast once love is settled.

the contrast once love is settled.

A Poem by Berto

I was with a romantic,
but needed nothing from her.
Now I'm with a realist,
and crave everything she can't give.

I found exactly what I was looking for when I wasn't looking,
but there are gaps in our interaction.
What fills it, how shall the circle be navigated?

A sailor sailing a childhood sea,
the familiar horizon is foggy.

I am looking for sustenance,
she wants to gorge on the kings delicacies.
