The Ocean DeepA Poem by Miles WilburnAbout growth and change in the world around you.
A boy stands on the edge of a tattered ancient dock.
His ruffled hair fluttering as the rocky winds rose. The boy breathes in the smell of the musty rocks; The ancient sea smells softly sifting themselves into his nose. The sound of a jackhammer echoes closely behind. He knows that things are ever-changing, and evolved. The ocean deep will soon be a memory he is reminded of; This place is becoming a shopping mall. © 2012 Miles Wilburn |
