Purpose of My Poetry

I could write in fancy rhythm
Using scansion and some time.
I could write in fancy verse
Sonnet number nine.
But...
I'm not one for footnotes, or symbols ,or signs.
I'm not one for mechanics, at least not every single line.
To me it kills the purpose of letting out your heart
Opening yourself to strangers who relate to who you are.
But...
If you love the specifics, the mechanics on the page
Then please don't be offended by what I had to say.
I respect every writer who simply loves to write,
But the purpose of my poetry makes me feel just fine.

I hope no one is offended by this! I'm not stating that my style is better than anyone's or anything like that. Just thought it was fun to write!
