Desire

Desire

A Poem by Miles Wilburn
"

About Desire

"
I'm helpless against the current
and I'm drowning with my feelings,
and the undertow is pulling
where I know I shouldn't go

I know I shouldn't envy
and I know I shouldn't worry
but all I do is worry
about the things that I want

The world is very loving
and the world so full of hate
and the world so full of feelings
the world we cant escape

I try to face the feelings
and rage against the line
But all I want is everything
one moment at a time

Reach into yourself
and find what you need
not what you desire
what you crave, or what you see

I hear whispers in my ear
confusing what I really feel
I want to understand myself
desire your ways confuse me
desire, what is this that I'm feeling

You tell me somewhere to go
but its not the place where I know
down a backwards alley
or an empty street
I feel you deserting me
then where am I?
then where am I?
