Prometheus

Prometheus

A Poem by Miles Wilburn
"

Pain.

"
You cut a piece of me today
and looked inside at memories
they glow with a red
of hate and cold
but vibrant with a shot of hope

You cut deeper and felt inside
the scared, the pain
the feelings I hide

You cut further and experienced fresh pain
that I had pushed deep down and hid away
wincing and crying
feeling and dying
deeper deeper
purging my brain

then you push through veins
through the traffic jam of thoughts
no happiness awaits today
the sun doesn't shine
here on these parts
eventually you bore of me
and through me away
and I lie asleep
still writhing with new pain
then

I woke up today
with a scars across my heart
and searing pain inside my head
only to find I was waking
to you cutting me again
