An Open Wound

An Open Wound

A Poem by Miles Wilburn

I don’t want to live life without you

Reflections make the feeling burn

The pain spirals to my head and my heart

And I slowly fall apart

The sun isn’t so bright

And the cold a bit more bitter

My mood is cold

And I feel old

I want to take back all I gave

All those feelings and thoughts I martyred

I see you everywhere I turn

And my heart yearns

I breathe in wishing for the best for you

And at my worst Its you I doom

I gave all I had to you

And for what? An open wound.
