Conundrum

Conundrum

A Poem by Miles Wilburn
"

A scientist ponders a way to win back his love.

"

I sat and thought of ways to try and win you back

Equations and science, charm and tact

My formulas and mathematics were just right

I swear every time I tried  it was with all might

I tried every solution from Z to C to U

And with time my frustration grew

Then I found X and Y and Q

There wasn’t hope for me and you

But I couldn’t let the math win

I couldn’t live with that sin

So I did all I could to bend

Breaking everything I tried to mend

Fed up with the exact and defined

I hung up my white coat, denied

To live of a life of ease,

but always wondering if we could be.
