Meet My Friend: Death. II

Meet My Friend: Death. II

A Story by Ben
"

Part II. Very short.

"

They were wakened by the morning sun, shining over the woods of Zamor. Martin sat up and kicked Suron awake and scolded him for sleeping, for it was his turn to keep watch. Though he couldn't blame him, because the day before had been very tiring. Martin woke the other two up and cried out in the fresh air,

"I say! today is a good day to go visiting, don't you think?" He smiled and began rolling up his tattered blanket that he slept in. He tied it onto his haversack and swung that onto his back. The other followed suit. After saddling their horses and getting onto them, they set off, first around the great rock, then towards the small town off in the distance.

Pretty soon they could see the town, and the looked around them. They had passed a mile of barren land, which was the very old battleground from the Dragon Wars*, and were surprised to find that the ground was green with grass, and tidy children played ball without a care in the world. Xanily smiled at them, and they ran away, screaming. This was not good.
