College and Euclid

College and Euclid

A Poem by Benny Swells

There it was

On the corner of College and Euclid

A simple woman

Walks by every hour or so

Hey how are you

How’s your day

Once you analyze something

It goes away

Heres something you’ll never forget

The dowsing rod

Dips and turns down south

Her eyes say

F**k me

Everything here isn’t nice

Such a b***h

3rd wave absurdity militant

F**k your vision

Your upsidedown elephants

I’m cutting onions and you joke

I stir a pot

And you lose your s**t

I’m making a living

But I don’t have a life

I could use a f*****g drink

Goddam

Cut

Sharp

Dully dull day

Down the trench hexagonal glasses

Huge gums yellowed teeth

Bristling white hair

On your chinny chin chin

The mob mentality

Of the endless public

SAME SAME SAME

Raise you up and love you

Love you

Tear you down

Love to see you in the gutter

Listening to jazz

Xylophones on your teeth
