Arbeit Macht FreiA Poem by Benny LongshankAnother old piece... Simply, the way I saw those school days!
It’s early May, I sternly gaze at the sturdy gates// And turn away breaks from my mates on their third escapes// They perpetrate, as I, in grace, wait and serve my dates// I’m firmly placed, laced, with a straight face in further space// This term intakes, and educates apes in learning states// Determines greats, and reinstates waste to the vermin race// I work in haste, and chase for purpose to reverse my pace// Insert my taste, as in this circus we deserve our place… © 2008 Benny Longshank |
