Green not goldA Poem by BenjaminJamesA love poem for a girl I wish I could give the world
The crisp October gust that made your hair dance angelic around my eager face
Started blowing on the opposite side of the world, in the early morning hours of yesterday And she talks of vacationing there Were the leaves still hold strong to trees green not gold Speaking with eloquence as she admitted her hatred for the cold We layed for what felt like minutes as we watched the moon punch in and the sun clock out Gazing with eyes dripping of intimacy until all the golden leaves drifted to brown © 2015 BenjaminJames |
