F**k You CancerA Poem by BenjaminJamesWhen life happens, and you are nowhere to be found
These past few days I woke
To a thickness of deafness In a mute world With dry eyes and wet pillows The air I swollowed was tasteless My heart stood dumbfounded As my soul dry heaved And my life just gazed as a witness At a bay, ablaze with a sunrise A world thirsting purity Having lost so much of it When you decided It was your time And before my cupped hands swallowed my leaking face I remembered words you once told me "Have a safe trip man. I'm gonna miss you a bunch. Sorry we didn't get to hang out more I've been having a really rough time with everything" And I just had to be in Califuckingfornia If only I saw your hourglass before the move Had the right perspective on the value of a grain of sand I know it wouldn't have changed the circumstance But at least i could have held your hand I f*****g miss you man © 2014 BenjaminJames |
