"So, Benjamin, what do you keep in this box?" The policeman asked him. As he turned to opwn the box, Benjamin felt something bad was going to happen. From the box, the policeman took out his pistol. Benjamin's eyes widened in fear. "This pistol is like the ones found at the crime scene. Now tell me, why did you kill my friends?" The policeman grinned at him. Aiming the gun at his face. Squeezing the trigger. Bam. Benjamin woke up wide-eyed in his bed, breathing loudly. He threw the covers off him, getting out of the bed and closing his eyes as he realised it was just a dream. He remained two minutes catching his breath, before deciding to take his school uniform with him downstairs. Setting it on a chair, he entered the shower wondering what the hell had happened last night. He had survived 5 persons all armed with guns. How crazy was that? No, the crazy part was that he had failed. He couldn't believe it. All that time in training and he had let the guy shadow him like that. Behind his back. Somehow, he had lived. He gave a deep sigh, wrapping the towel around him as he exited the shower. Jotz. What was he talking about? He mulled over the answer during his breakfast of Oaty Bits with milk, eating the cereal silently. Sometimes, he hated these moments of solidute, wishing for someone to talk to, his parents to eat with him on the table again...Their friendly chatter together, he was young when his parents were still alive but he still remembered the way they loved him, talking along with him. They were good times. They were good times and they're never coming back. He sighed softly as he finished his breakfast, cleaning them up with a heavy heart. Setting them up to dry, he went to wash his hands and face, throwing on some underwear and taking up his uniform, fixing up the buttons and the tie. He moved over to the door, opening it and exiting his house, closing the door after him. On his way towards the school, he passed by the bring-in site, seeing a lot of commotion about it. He looked surprised at the scene, intent on keeping on the move. "Hey!" A policeman called out to him. "Hmm?" Benjamin turned to him with a lazy expression on his face, tilting his head slightly to one side. "You wouldn't have happened to see or hear something suspicious around here last night, would you?" "Well, I'm not sure why someone would be about here at night, to be honest..." Benjamin shrugged. "And I live quite a long way off" Benjamin told him, pointing vaguely in the direction of his house. "So, I'm sorry officer, I didn't hear anything. What is it that happened here exactly?" "Well" the officer told him, "We found 5 dead persons strewn across the site. What they all had in common was their gun, it was made from the same material for all of them. We think they murdered another adult and got killed by the same adult in the process. But" He leaned closer to him. "Get this, the man had no weapons on him,so there must have been another party involved in all of this" Benjamin feigned surprise. "Oh, well that's a very interesting case I must say, I've always thought on joining the police force to tell you the truth. These cases make you rack your brain and try to think of all the possible outcomed and determine the correct one out of all of them" The policeman smiled at him. "Really, maybe you should apply for it, we always accept enthusiastic newcomers" "Yea, maybe. Hey, if you don't mind I have school waiting for me, so if that's all, I'll take my leave, officer" "Of course" The policeman smiled at him. "Now stay safe and be good, my young sir" He shook his hand powerfully. "Of course, mister..." Benjamin trailed off. "Edric" "Edric" Benjamin smiled at him, continuing on his journey to school. Indeed mysterious, he flashed a small smile to himself. "Benjamin!" "Hmm, hey Ron" Benjamin greeted him back. He wasn't given to treating people roughly, he just didn't bother hanging out with them that much. He did have his training after all. Couldn't slack off on that, especially with the people rushing after him and trying to kill him. "Have you heard that six people were killed last night, near the amenity site? There are policemen all over the bring-in site asking everyone. It's apparently very strange how this all happened. And why the bring-in site?" "Beats me" Benjamin laughed, joining Ron on his way through the school. "Are you gonna leave like yesterday?" Ron elbowed his chest. "Mmmh, maybe" Benjamin replied, not really wanting to pursue the subject. "Hey man, why do you leave like that?" Ron asked him, as he stopped walking, turning around to face him. "I do have my training to keep up" Benjamin explained to him, flexing his arm a bit. Ron laughed at him. "You train so hard, and yet you never show off to the girls." He poked his chest a while. Benjamin stared with disdain at him. "I already told you, I don't need anyone. I talk to you so I don't appear rude". Ron shrugged his shoulders. "Whatever bro. Hey...are you joining us on Saturday for that dance party we organized?" "Ughh..." Benjamin trailed off as someone captured him into a hug. "Oh, hi Jane" "Benjamin, will you come to the dance party and dance with me?" She asked him, looking cutely up at him, hugging his arm. Ughhhhhhhh! This was the girl with the two year long crush on him, Jane Rasquire. His condition of awkward social life didn't make him any happier when people fawned over him, let alone girls. He gave a groan. "Yea, shut up you two" He snapped, taking his arm out of Jane's embrace. "F**k it, I'll come" He relented. "Oh great" Ron beamed at him. "And you know, try to dance and not sit in one corner this time" Ron left to his class, sticking his tongue out at him. Benjamin gave a groan and turned back to look at Jane but she was already on her way to class. He eyed her closely, watching her movements. Something was off here. As he peered closer, he heard laughter from behind him. Startled, he turned around. "What do you know, it's that social alien come to land on Earth" "Yea, hi Greg" Benjamin told the leader of the gang that had rounded around him. "I don't get it. Why is jane so attracted to you?" He asked him. "I dunno" Benjamin shrugged, looking at the brute in front of him. His shirt was torn again and his boots were muddy. His tie was absent as usual. "Maybe because you're the school bully and nobody likes you". Greg glared back at him, though not moving a muscle against him. He knew fighting Benjamin would be a bad idea, as his muscles towered over his, his body toned, sleek and muscular. "Pfft, whatever, loser. At least I'm going to Saturday's party, unliike you" Greg and his gang strode past him, shoving him roughly on their way past him. Oh great, now he'd really have to turn up to put a sock in that f****r's mouth. With a groan, he continued onwards to his class. © 2015 Benjamin(Beno11180) |
