Heart on the SleeveA Poem by Ben LRWrote this about someone I know. The heart rests on the sleeves, Believe me, its not where its meant to be. Stay guarded and protect it, It should rest beneath where your chest is. But, I can’t help it. Helpless, if you would. Maybe, if I keep it here by my hands, Someone could rush to hold it and place it back where it stands. Hoping one day someone will give me a chance. But, I’m lost to understand the importance of romance. I’ve loved before, more times than I thought. An old school romantic is what I brought. Looking back now, Seeing the same conclusion. Of how you and I began our story, And ended with a seperate illusion. Our minds made up a decision, To end something far from just a commitment. Years that have passed, your heart has stayed true. I’m sorry to say this, but I’m still in love with you. © 2020 Ben LR |
