The Confidential Memo that Lacks Confidence: Neo-coerce in VerseA Poem by Ben
News reel, your grandpa had excuses
Much better than ours For being complacent, barred from the rest In xenophobic ecstasy Come on read my blog, comment on my comment It's all good and well But right, isn't it that all your comments Seem so soft amidst a black and white And fancy colors of 10,000 pages the Interest groups will pay to keep away from ya Right so as I sit and write unemployed I follow the path that is virtuous In that it is the road less taken Without so much complacency, without so much Institution 99 percent jump and fling themselves How high, they ask drooling eager Oh, you're not, you're not one of them You're not one of them who is confident In their sad over-dramatic resignation To be, just content in your strategy To deflect, quaint in your procrastinating I know it's my problem on my hands And that when I go, no not go When I unhitch, people will stroll on Oh so many diverse feelings, urges, pulls Such soft pleading, the pull to align with your soul Let's not say we never knew it Because some magic and coincidence point To the stars, which is why our distant ancestors Stuck their faces in them, so they'd be sure However, the reason this problem exists of not Seeing simple silently from our heart Is not only a matter of sophistry prevailing But also a matter of a lack of a push for that Again, our ancestors had better excuses The problem is inherited Many things are over-looked when a loved one Is gone It's too bad we can't look at that And Put a little love on the books While we still got a good kick in us © 2014 Ben |
