The Forgotten RealizationA Poem by BenA poem about life and death.A concept of gold, abandoned over time No one seeks the truth that will make their life shine A knowledge that will put the worries of mankind to rest The masses must realize the truth of death Impossible to avert; do not try and avoid Instead, you must accept the reality of the void One day you will take your very final breath A final pump of blood with flow through your chest The light starts to fade, your eyes gently close You’ll be claimed by the soul, dressed up in nice clothes We as humans tend to fear what we cannot comprehend And they shake with anxiety until the very end That’s not the correct way to view the gift of life You must live fully until your very last night Have plenty of laughs, follow your passions and dreams When the Reaper comes knocking, it’s best not to scream Instead you must take a deep breath and answer the call And know you lived out your existence better than them all Because you took time to learn, to seek knowledge and love And you remained calm when push came to shove Look Death in the eyes, embrace him, do not fear, do not cry Be glad of all the memories, romances, friendships, laughs, all the lows and highs Turn around and give the world one final wave goodbye © 2021 BenReviews
