Of Mice And Men And Fire

Of Mice And Men And Fire

A Poem by Ben Barton

A man once said
The best laid plans of mice and men
Oft go awry
I can't speak for mice
But for man, I speak thus:
It is truly remarkable
Astonishing, in fact
How quickly the most innocent of intentions
Is corrupted
Twisted
Perverted
They said to fight fire with fire
But fire is no respecter of persons
She burns all who come too close
