Do You See?

Do You See?

A Poem by Ben Barton

Do you see?
Do you see the oak in the forest?
Just there!
On the edge of the clearing
Look at him!
See how tall he is
How noble
How strong
He is magnificent
Do you see?
Do you see the daffodil by the oak?
Just there!
By the trunk of the tree
Look at him!
See how colourful he is
How dashing
How bright
He is resplendent
Do you see?
Do you see the oak and the daffodil?
Just there!
Standing together in the forest
Look at them!
See how content they are
How perfect
How peaceful
They are united
Do you see?
Do you see the lesson of the forest?

A simple, yet deep, view of how different species can live in harmony. The lesson? I guess why can't we?
I sounded like Macca then 'Ebony and Ivory'.
