She

She

A Poem by Ben Barton

She danced to the rhythm of her soul
Each step told the story of her life
She danced to the beating of her heart
Each step told the lessons of her past

She sang to an unwritten song
Each line as dew upon the grass
She sang to an unseen crowd
Each line as snow upon the fields

She spoke to the sun and to the moon
Each word brought light into the dark
She spoke to the land and to the sea
Each word brought waves back to the shore

She read to the children of the night
Each page promised new adventure
She read to the parents of the light
Each page promised new wisdom

Nice use of the anaphoras each and she, what are you referring to when writing 'the parents of the light?'

Doesn't having Her just inspire a person? Great work.
"Each step told the story of her life" and "spoke to the land and to the sea" must be my favorite lines.
This is amazingly done.
