Whispers

Whispers

A Poem by Ben Barton

I heard the echo of a whisper
Gentle as the ocean breeze
A voice that spoke of courage
Endless love and perfect peace
Though they were but whispers
Those words thundered through my heart
And there, they sparked a riot
Setting fire to the dark

A short piece that I had hoped to work into something bigger, but never really found the right place for it.

Love this. How powerful is even the echo of an inspiring whisper! This is uplifting and hopeful. Lovely. It needs no more (in reference to your note). :)

I really love this. It's very visual & full of feeling. It perfectly describes the way something beautiful can come to us in a whisper, but then as we find others who resonate with this feeling, it grows into a riotous enjoyment. Very imaginative & thought-provoking.
