Young

Young

A Poem by Ben Barton
"

What is it to be young?

"
To be young is to be reckless
Careless, and bold
It's tearing up rulebooks and disdain for the old
To be young is to be foolish
No guilt, no regrets
It's flirting with boundaries and deciding what's best
To be young is to be restless
Uncertain, unstable
It's finding excuses to be excused from the table
To be young is to be weightless,
Unburdened and free
It's defining the future, defining you and me

Great poem, if I could offer a suggestion I would say to add in punctuation. The lines give breaks, but the punctuation still needs to be there to give flow. As well perhaps do not capitalize each new line, try offsetting the type instead. ie.:

To be young is to be reckless,
careless, and bold.
It is tearing up rulebooks........
