Perfect Love

Perfect Love

A Poem by Ben
"

English literary class assignment. We were to write a poem in five minutes, and this is what I came up with. It was fun.

"
Your Words -- true to my heart,
Your Words -- lamp to my feet,
Your Light -- guide to my path,
How true, I keep these in mind.
You commanded us to love You.
You commanded us to love others.
And I try; I try, using my hand --
In this way, I help to spread your tongue:
To share your love to other's hands, eyes, ears:
To the deaf-blind, I use my gentle fingers,
To the deaf, I use my flying hands,
To the hearing, I speak thunderously to their ears,
Your Words, oh God, I love you!
Jesus is the Head, we are the body.

Author's Note

Ben
I often wonder if the last tow lines should be switched.

"Jesus is the Head, we are the body.
Your Words, oh God, I love you!"

What do you think? Also, I like to add, the 9th line, other's or others, which would you suggest? Spell check says others. It means other people's hands, eyes, ears. Oh well.

Enjoy.
