I wrote this poem as a precursor to anyone considering writing poems (or any other style of writing). I encourage you to give it a try - you never know what you'll end up with ^_^

I wrote a new poem
It is not very good
Read it and see if you can
Better it. I am sure that you could.

Write me a poem
That comes from the heart
Write it for me and I promise
We shall never part

Write about love, or write about hate
About an enemy of a best mate
Just make it beautiful
Whatever it may be about…

Write down your feelings
If it helps you to write
Put pen to paper and set your mind to the task
Just write it for me, is that too much to ask?

You can make it rhyme
If you want to
Perhaps write a letter
In a poem style – now there is something new!

It does not take much
For words to start flowing
It is just like life,
You just keep on growing…

Growing and learning
Oh yes, that is important
As you write, you will begin to learn
The secrets of writing…
