Death's Belonging's

Death's Belonging's

A Poem by Belthizor
"

I wrote this poem in loving memory of my dog who passed away after 13 years with us... I loved her dearly, and this was my way of dealing with her loss.

"

Sheldon James Cohen, 2003
DEDICATED TO AND IN LOVING MEMORY OF PRISCILLA – 22/07/1989 – 28/07/2002

At the passing of one life
There comes the birth of a new one.
As one spirit departs
To watch over loved ones,

Another is brought into this life,
To bring someone else joy.
And as another soul departs,
We can be sure that our love

Will help in the peaceful parting of the beloved
Farewell dear one, but not goodbye
We can be sure that you are reunited with your family
Both on Earth, in spirit and in our hearts, wherever you may be now.

You will always be remembered by those who loved you,
As a fighter, a battler of the cruelties of this world,
But not a quitter. You fought a fine battle
And never gave up until the very end.

Farewell dear one, you will never be forgotten
May you be happy as you live forever on,
In our minds, in our lives
And most important of all – in our hearts.

I love this poem!
I can truly feel the love and the grief. Beautifully written!
The only change I have to suggest is remove the line breaks, I think it might flow a little better.
Lovely Write!
