[[Part Seven]]
“Hey Forshen. How was your night?” Veronica asked as she waited for jenn to get her books for homeroom.
“Crazy.”
Veronica laughed. “ Sounds like fun.”
“ Oh, it was. What about you?”
She closed her locker and they slowly walked around the school until the bell rang.
“It was okay. I guess. I beat my brother’s high score in a video game I’ve never played before, for the first time. He got so mad.”
“I wish I had a brother.”
“ When you live with mine… no you don’t.”
Jenn laughed. But then she groaned. The Hopeless Stupid were walking her way. Veronica noticed.
“Stop walking. Watch,” she whispered. They leaned against the wall and as predicted in Jenn’s head, they stomped right up to them. Taylor was wearing the skankiest clothes ever. It was January. Not summer. Winter~
“What the hell do you want?”
“ I want you dead w***e.” Taylor spat.
“Hi b***h. What’s your name?” Veronica asked sweetly.
“None of your beeswax, emo.” Taylor shot. Yes folks. That’s the best she has.
“ Well, I’m making it my business. Although I personally wouldn’t because I might catch some of your skankiness. I heard its contagious. But anyway—“ she slung her arm around Jenn,”—My homegirl Forshen says you b*****s are stalking her.”
“We’re not stalkers!” Angela squealed.
“Awwe, well I’m sorry honey, but you are. And you know it. Because your f*****g life is perfect doesn’t mean you have to ruin somebody else’s. Later b*****s. We out.”
They walked away, leaving them stunned. All this time they could have said something, that they weren’t b*****s. But by not saying anything, they just admitted that they were. ( Well it was true. They’d just be messing with nature. And that wasn’t right.)

“So when are you moving?” Spencer asked Marek via phone.
“Sometime around next weekend. You live on Pinecrest road, right?”
“Yeah. I can’t believe you’re coming. How did your fanclub take it?”
Marek had a fanclub. Yes he did. Last yeaer he was ‘the hottest freshman in school.’ He laughed so hard when he heard that.
Marek laughed. “ They screamed so loud that they broke a glass. No joke.”
“You lie man.”
“I swear. No lie.”
“Yeah, yeah okay. So what’s your new address?”
“Something Roden St. I don’t remember. You know I’m not good with remembering stuff.”
“Roden St… that’s two seconds away from Pinecrest.”
“Wootness~”
“New word?” Marek liked inventing new words for fun.
“Hell yes. Ugh. Class is starting. I’ll talk to you later dude. Bye.”
“Later.”
He hung up. Fourteen more days until Marek came. Four more hours till Jenn did.

“Will you be online today? I mean tonight?” Veronica asked right after the bell rang and they got their stuff and headed to their lockers.
“I don’t know Ronnie. Maybe. I don’t have work, so…” she sighed, concluding her sentence.
“Okay. I’ll be online so when you’re done visiting the person in the hospital, see if you can come on.”
“I’ll try.” She smiled.
“Okay Forshen. I’ll talk to you later. Bye.”
“Seeya.”
They split up, heading to their different lockers. Jenn sprint straight to the hospital and the familiar path. She knocked on Spencer’s door but no one answered. She slowly opened the door and peeked inside. He was sleeping. She shut the door behind her quietly, trying not to make any noise.
She put her backpack on a chair and watched him sleep. She smiled first… but as she continued to watch him, she knew that she could never have him. All she was , was his homework dropper offer. She should stop thinking that they could become friends.
Very slowly, Jenn reached out her hand to touch his face. But as soon as she was about to, she started to draw back her hand. In his sleep, Spencer grabbed her hand gently, and kept it there. His eyes fluttered open, his amber-hazel eyes piercing Jenn’s green ones.
“And what were you planning on doing just now?” Jenn flushed and quickly looked away.
“There was a bug. Let go.” She tried to pull her hand back but he just held on tighter but gently.
“Oh really?”
“Yes really.”
Pulling her hand, Spencer pulled Jenn closer so that she was leaning forward out of her seat. He let go of her hand, but reached and softly touched her cheek. She stared at him. He pulled his hand back, and Jenn questioned him with her eyes.
“There was a bug.” He explained, grinning.
“Sure there was,” she muttered as he yawned and stretched and sat up. She leaned back in her chair. There was a silence that had a ring of awkwardness to it.
Spencer glanced at Jenn, a sheepish grin on his face. “Yay for our first awkward silence!”
“You’re insane, Spencer.” She said nothing more. Spencer could tell that something was wrong. He sat on the edge of the bed, closer to her. He raised her chin with his fingers gently as if she were made of porcelain or something so delicate and fragile that if you touched it, it’d break.
Jenn didn’t really want to look, but reluctantly her green eyes landed on his.
“I know there’s something wrong, Jenn. But I won’t push and ask. But as your friend, I’m asking you one thing.”
“What’s that?” she struggled out, her voice barely over a whisper.
“Smile?”
“Why should I?”
“ For me? Come on, you know I love you. I told you so, didn’t I?”
A smile pushed itself through and tugged at her lips.
“There we go. Now give me a hug Jenners.” Spencer spread his arms and caught Jenn in a huge teddy bear hug. She blushed deeply.
When he pulled back, she said, “I never thought my first hug in awhile would be in a hospital.”
“With bugs,” he winked. “And people are stupid if they don’t hug you. They don’t know what they’re missing.”
“Shut your face Spencer!” Jenn could feel her face heat up.
“Jenners is blushing, Jenners is blushing,” he chanted.
“What’s with you calling me Jenners?” she raised an eyebrow.
“Cause its cute. Like you.”
“Stop it Spencer!” Spencer laughed and poked Jenn’s side, her ticklish spot.
Jenn tried to get rid of ‘those’ thoughts in her head. But her mind wasn’t any match against feelings. She didn’t let any of them that involved Spencer show through while she talked to him. Hell you better believe it was hard.
“So my friend from two moves ago is moving here.” Spencer grinned. Jenn knew about his dad’s job and his continuous moving around. She knew about his parents, his siblings, and his personal interests. ( Trying to figure out Jenn was just recently added.) His favourite colour was green, he liked white tigers, sunsets and Avenged Sevenfold was his favourite band. He hated valley girls and people who think they’re better than everyone else. He loved Math, believe it or not, and had a good sense of humour. He was very protective of his friends. Especially his female ones.
“Oh really? Which one is this… Chris? Or wait, don’t tell me, Jake?” Jenn knew about his current and previous friends.
“It’s Marek.”
“Oh. When’s he coming?”
“In around two weeks. You’ll get to meet him, he’s really funny.”
“Okay.”
The nurse came in. “How are you dear?” she checked the heart monitor.
“I’m alright. Is it 5 o’clock already?”
“Yeah.” Jenn answered.
The nurse turned to her. “Hello dear. Who are you?” Jenn opened her mouth to answer, but Spencer had something else in mind.
“This is Jenn. She’s my girl… friend.”
“Nice to meet you dear.”
“You too.”
“I’ll check up on you later Spencer,” and she walked out, closing the door behind her.
“Girlfriend? Explain yourself Cherish.” She crossed her arms.
“Chill Jenners. A friend who’s a girl.”
“ But she doesn’t know that.”
“So? Let her think what she wants. Only we know what it means.”
“Weirdo.”
“But you know you love me.”
“Stop acting smart. You wish.”
‘Yes I do.’
