SERENDIPITY

I’m not going to add any fluff to this: sometimes I really hate Abarrane. I know she’s my mother, I know she had to raise me on her own, and I know that she has sacrificed so, so much for me. Yet some days I wish she would just leave my life; maybe not die per se, but just stop being or existing in my own little universe.

            Today is a bad day for the two of us. And the day was going so well up until now, even from when I first woke up. Rane was out the door early, I’d lost half a pound, today was my “easy” day (of my every-other-day schedule), hell, sophomore year as a whole is easy in my school, and the kids at school were unusually quite. With every passing moment one word kept popping into my head: serendipity. Today had been utter serendipity.

            Then I went home.
